Good Day Deli is an award winning sustainable foods cafe serving a mix of local, seasonal and organic food with a commitment to sustainability in our food chain.

We are growing our team and have great opportunities for ambitious chefs to join our gorgeous garden cafe, overlooking Cork City.

We currently have opportunities for a Senior Chef, Chef de Partie w Baking Skills and a Prep Chef.

SENIOR CHEF

We are looking for Senior Chefs to join our talented and committed team. The successful candidates will have relevant experience in creative, progressive and fast paced kitchens.

If you are thrive in busy kitchens, love growth and new opportunities, are strong on service, systems, catering and planning, are passionate about sourcing + using sustainable ingredients and enjoy being part of a driven team, we would love to hear from you.

This is a full time role with mainly day time hours throughout the week, Friday nights and occasional evenings for special events and catering are also required.

Our ideal candidates have:

  • Demonstrated 4/5+ years experience in a similar professional kitchen.

  • A passion for and commitment to contemporary food, provenance, sustainability, zero waste and high quality service.

  • Experience in delivering catering and special/unique events.

  • Creative with excellent skills in service, preparation and presentation.

  • Proficient in management, strategy, forecasting, stock management and HACCP.

  • Systems efficiency, organisation, planning, waste management and attention to detail.

  • Interest and experience in global cuisine, research and trends.

  • Excellent leadership, organisational, motivational and interpersonal skills.


CHEF DE PARTIE WITH BAKING EXPERIENCE

We are looking for an Experienced Chef De Partie with Baking Skills to join our talented kitchen team. This is a great opportunity for a chef who is looking to learn and progress their experience in a progressive and creative kitchen.

This is a part time role with mainly day time hours throughout the week, Friday nights and occasional evenings for special events and catering are also required.

Our ideal candidate has the following:

  • Demonstrated 2/3+ years experience in a similar professional kitchen.

  • Creative skills and passion for baking, preparation, service and presentation.

    • Proven experience of managing their own section

    • Extensive and refined baking skills with interest in vegan options.

    • Experience food production for catering and events.

  • A passion for and commitment to contemporary food, provenance, sustainability, zero waste and high quality service.

  • Experience in catering and special/unique event offerings.

  • Motivated and ambitious with ability to handle fast paced service while always maintaining a high level of service. Adherence to systems, recipes, food safety and HACCP procedures.

  • Thrives working under pressure and enjoys working as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.

  • Hardworking and reliable with flexibility to work throughout the week.


PREP CHEF

We are looking for a part time Prep Chef who has experience in baking and food production, a commitment to high quality products and can work well on own initiative.

This is a part time role that requires flexibility throughout the week.

Our ideal candidates have:

  • Demonstrated 2 years of experience in a busy kitchen.

  • Creative with strong skills and passion for baking, food production, waste management, storage and presentation.

  • Adherence to systems, recipes, food safety and HACCP procedures

  • Reliable and hardworking

  • Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment

  • Flexibility throughout the work week

It already feels like summer in Nano Nagle Place, and we’re looking for people to join us in providing a unique and special escape for our guests at Good Day Deli 🌿

We offer great opportunities for experienced waiters/ waitresses who are passionate about hospitality and the environment and love working with good food, lovely customers + a fun team. Our cafe also has some of the best views in Cork City!

We are looking for committed team members with at least 3 years experience in a fast paced cafe environment, who are friendly, hard-working, energetic, efficient and have great restaurant awareness. A willingness to grow with our business and work on the weekends is essential. Occasional evenings will also be required.

We offer great terms, a positive working atmosphere and a gorgeous location.
